Last Tuesday, the rooftop of Ratherhood Initiative Limited once again transformed into a cinematic haven for the third episode of Chhader Chhobi: Season Two. Amid the cozy arrangement of mats under the open sky, participants immersed themselves in the deeply compelling Romanian masterpiece, The Death of Mister Lazarescu (2005), directed by Cristi Puiu.
This film, a quintessential example of the New Romanian Cinema movement, brought to light the subtle complexities of post-communist Romanian society. Its minimalist storytelling, long takes, and raw exploration of ethical dilemmas left the audience in contemplative silence, sparking a heartfelt discussion afterward.
As always, the post-screening dialogue brought diverse perspectives, ranging from cinematic techniques to societal reflections. Attendees shared personal interpretations, making the rooftop a melting pot of ideas and emotions.
