This Tuesday evening, the vibrant rooftop of Ratherhood Initiative Limited came alive once again for the second episode of Chhader Chhobi Season 3.
Building on the thematic exploration of African cinema, this week’s feature was Djibril Diop Mambéty’s Touki Bouki (1973), a Senegalese cinematic gem. The 85-minute film delves into the dreams and struggles of two young Senegalese individuals yearning for a new life in Paris. Through its strikingly surreal imagery and bold narrative style, the film captures the complexities of identity, modernity, and cultural displacement in post-colonial Africa.
As the film unfolded, its layered storytelling and rich visuals captivated the audience, sparking an engaging discussion. Attendees shared their interpretations and personal reflections, creating an atmosphere of genuine connection and shared curiosity.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, embracing the simplicity and openness of this rooftop cinema gathering. Special thanks to our logistics partners, Cloud Marcom BD and Studio Junction, for their continued support in making these evenings possible.
Keep an eye out for next week’s announcement and book your spot early—these cozy gatherings fill up fast!
